Yuko Ikeda: 26M – Silver & Cherry Blossom Leaf Artwork (No. 100)
"Path of Light" where the light reflecting on the sea surface emerges like a single path.
This is a work by Yuko Ikeda, inspired by this fleeting and beautiful natural scene that appears only for a short time.
It is created using materials that have been passed down since ancient times, such as traditional Japanese paper (Washi) and "Gofun", a traditional pigment made from seashells.
The pale cherry blossom color spreading at the bottom of the piece uses "Sakura-haku", which is dyed silver leaf.
The soft cherry blossom color reminiscent of the horizon and the sparkling silver expression seem to reflect a single ray of light shining into the morning sea.
With femininity as its theme, this piece expresses a tenderness and supple beauty within the transience left by the fading morning light.
Please enjoy the delicate expressions that shift depending on how the light hits it and the angle from which it is viewed.
